About Us

SALGA (Portuguese word for the salting process) is a curing tradition in which salt and time preserve the essence of what truly matters. Out in the ocean, the same elements cure our boards, our gear and, ultimately, our minds. That idea sits at the heart of everything we do. Time, patience, repetition, and respect for the process.

Alongside the shaping bay lives another side of SALGA. Graphic design, concepts, and collections created with the same curiosity that drives the boards themselves: thoughtful, unexpected, and never made to blend in.

Our Story

Everything began out of curiosity. The kind that looks at a surfboard not only as something to ride, but something to understand. How curves create speed, how shape changes flow, how a simple block of foam can become an extension of the body in the water.

That curiosity naturally led to the workshop, with tools worn by use and dust in the air. To learning by trial, error, and obsession. To the satisfaction of taking raw materials in our hands and turning them into something purposeful.

We've always believed there is meaning in making things yourself. In knowing where they come from, how they were built, and why every detail exists. Every board is shaped to respond in the water, but also built to be kept, remembered, and lived with.
